About

Mines to Pines is the successor to the Dark 50, reimagined with new start times, a new start/finish basecamp at Tiny Trails Campground, and relay racing. Every race starts around the fire, follows a wooded ATV trail to singletrack, then winds through expressive terrain shaped by coal mining history and the natural forces reclaiming it.

A brand new loop through old mine land and living forest.

Stay where loops return.

The new loop starts and ends at Tiny Trails Campground, so runners pass the campfire each lap. Campsites can be booked on the Tiny Trails website from about $45/night. Stay onsite, rest before driving, and wake up close to the trails.

Crew belongs by the fire.

Bring sleeping bags, blankets, lawn chairs, small tents, and whatever helps you support your runner comfortably. Crewing is permitted at the start/finish around the campfire at Tiny Trails.

Recognizing Mountain Bike Minto

In 2012, Dr. Sean Morrissy saw trail-building potential in the woods behind his office. Mountain Bike Minto has since stewarded what they call some of the best singletrack in Eastern Canada. Each registration contributes to their trails and ongoing work.
